Kahua Papa Haʻawina
E lawe i ke aʻo a mālama, a e ʻoi mau ka naʻauao.
He who takes his teachings and applies them increases his knowledge.
Aloha kākou! Welcome to Kamehameha Schools Preschools (KSP) Kahua Papa Haʻawina, an instructional resource intentionally designed to support kumu and staff in delivering culturally grounded, developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Rooted in Hawaiian Culture-Based Education, this resource empowers educators to nurture keiki in alignment with the E Ola! Learner Outcomes.

Nā Kula 'O Kamehameha System
The Nā Kula System for Kamehameha Schools is designed to promote collaboration and sharing among the system's members. The system aims to enhance our knowledge, skills, practices, and behaviors to advance E Ola! with consistency across all preschools. To achieve this goal, there are three focus areas that will help you build familiarity and a shared understanding.
E Ola! Educators
E Ola! Educators are committed to providing culturally-grounded teaching, learning, and leadership practices. They recognize and honor the unique moʻolelo of Hawaiʻi, and strive to support the aspirations of each learner. Professional learning opportunities and peer collaborations are valued as important tools for growth and development.

E Ola! Standards
E Ola! is a set of learner outcomes
demonstrating readiness to serve as an ‘ōiwi leader, including these foundations: ‘Ike Kūpuna,
Aloha ‘Āina, and Kūpono; these aspects of identity: Mālama and Kuleana, Alaka‘i Lawelawe, and Kūlia; and these courses of action: Academic Competence, Growth Mindset, Self-Efficacy, Problem Solving, Innovation and Creativity,
Collaboration, and Global Competence.

E Ola! Haumāna
KSP is dedicated to providing a strong educational foundation for children and promoting well-being. Our preschool classrooms incorporate E Ola! learner outcomes and best practices to ensure a culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate assessment for the whole child. The KSP E Ola! Haumāna Assessment aligns with the E Ola! transdisciplinary and academic standards and outlines the exit expectations for keiki at the end of the school year.
